Feisal Alkazi is a renowned theatre director, educationist, and cultural advocate with over four decades of work at the intersection of art, education, and social change. A trained social worker, he headed the alternative education organization Ankur for over 25 years and currently leads Creative Learning for Change (CLC)—a Delhi-based collective focused on integrating creative methods into education, with a focus on gender, environment, and heritage.
Feisal has directed over 200 plays in Hindi, English, and Urdu through his theatre group Ruchika, and has produced more than 30 films and 100+ school-based performances across India. His productions often explore contemporary themes of justice, identity, and sustainability, using theatre as a space for civic dialogue.
He has co-authored over 20 books for children and educators, including Exploring an Environment, Discovering Jaipur, and Discovering Kashmir, which promote experiential and participatory learning.
Widely respected in the cultural and education sectors, Feisal has spoken at literature festivals and academic forums nationwide. His lifelong commitment to youth, storytelling, and social equity makes him a natural ally to platforms like the Purple Umbrella Festival, where art meets action.
